2020 Super High Roller Bowl Moves Online to Partypoker

Super High Roller Bowl Online

With the success of Poker Masters Online, some have speculated that Poker Central would consider moving other events online. It didn’t take them long to pull the trigger. A day after the conclusion of Poker Master Online, Poker Central has announced that they are moving the Super High Roller Bowl to partypoker.

This year’s Super High Roller Bowl will be played out at partypoker, and similar to Poker Masters Online, the series will feature over two dozen events. The series will feature guarantees of over $20 million, including the $100,000 Main Event.

Super High Roller Bowl Moves to Partypoker

With the ongoing pandemic impacting poker events globally, many expected that Poker Central would move additional events online. The company announced on Monday that the 2020 Super High Roller Bowl will move from Las Vegas to partypoker and will feature an expanded series.

The 2020 Super High Roller Bowl will play out from May 23rd through June 1st and play out exclusively at partypoker. Similar to Poker Masters Online, this series will feature 28 events with buy-ins ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

The opening event of the series will feature a $25,000 8-Max NL Hold’em Event with a $1 million guarantee. If Poker Masters Online proved anything, it is that the guarantees will probably be crushed during this series.

All tournaments will play out over two days rather than a single day. The Main Event of the series will feature a $100,000 Main Event with a $3 Million guarantee.

PokerGo to Live-Stream Ten Final Tables

Similar to what they did with Poker Masters Online, PokerGo will live-stream ten of the final tables of this series. The schedule of events has yet to be released, but we can assume that the $100,000 Main Event will be streamed along with some of the higher buy-in events.

According to Poker Central Chief Business Officer J.R. McCabe, “After a successful Poker Masters Online tournament, we knew we had to continue the momentum with an online Super High Roller Bowl series in lieu of a live tournament this year. Our partnership with partypoker will allow us to continue to deliver what our fans love – live poker from the best players in the world.”

Tom Walters, Managing Director of partypoker, also commented, stating, “In this time of increased caution, partypoker’s goal is to help fans and players in the poker industry continue to partake in the excitement of the game.”

Poker Masters Online Champion Alexandros Kolonias also gave his seal of approval, stating, “Hosting the Super High Roller Bowl on the same platform as PMO is enticing, as it will give poker players another virtual opportunity to test their skills and possibly go all the way like I did!”

Fantastic Idea That Was Also a No-Brainer

Before the start of Poker Masters Online, we assumed that Poker Central was already making plans to host other events online. However, after the record turnout for the online series, Poker Central had little choice but pull the trigger.

Like Kolonias stated, these series moving online will give players globally a chance to play in high roller tournaments. Playing the event in Las Vegas is great for TV but it is also limiting in how many players will show up.

With the event now online and at a lower pricing point, this guarantees a record field for the event, if not a record prize pool. There’s no telling who will take their seat at the virtual tables in May. Poker Masters Online proved to be a high roller playground with a few outliers able to make their own mark on the series.

Will the Super High Roller Bowl Online prove as successful? Time will tell, but looking into our crystal ball, we predict a similarly successful series.
