The European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona is officially in the books and several big names walked away with titles. One of the most successful players during the event was Juan Pardo, aka Juan Pardo Dominguez.

Juan Pardo managed to walk away with back-to-back high roller titles during the series, effectively doubling his lifetime live tournament earnings in the process. Other notable winners during the series were Elio Fox, Chris Hunichen, and Main Event winner Simon Brandstrom.

Juan Pardo Wins Back-to-Back Events

Some of you may remember that Juan Pardo Dominguez simply crushed the Aria Summer High Rollers this year, winning four events. It came as no surprise that he performed well at the EPT Barcelona, but nobody could expect back-to-back wins from the Spaniard.

First, Juan Pardo took down the €50,000 Single-Day High Roller. The event had a total of 52 entries and a prize pool of just over $4 million. Among those at the final table were Ali Imsirovic, Timothy Adams, Lucas Greenwood, and Seth Davies.

It was Davies and Juan Pardo that battled for the title and ultimately, Juan Pardo walked away with $1.12 million. This was the largest individual prize of his live poker career. While this would be enough to consider the trip a success, Juan Pardo was not done.

The next day, Juan Pardo took down the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller. Michael Addamo and Gerad Pique were among the most notable at this final. Juan Pardo battled Pique for the title and eventually walked away with the $546,708 top prize.

A couple of days later, Juan Pardo made the final table of another €25,000 High Roller. This time, he would not win but did manage a fourth-place finish, good for an additional $286,998. Altogether, Juan Pardo won $1.96 million at the EPT Barcelona, more than doubling his career live poker tournament earnings. He now has $3.74 million in live earnings. He will not doubt significantly add to this total, and probably before the end of 2019.

Elio Fox, Chris Hunichen and Simon Brandstrom Among Other Winners

Several other big names took down monster scores at the EPT Barcelona. Chris Hunichen came into the €10,300 EPT High Roller facing a lot of personal tragedy in his life. He managed to put on a stunning performance, making it heads-up with Uri Reichenstein and then chopping the prize pool.

After the chop, Hunichen walked away the winner and with $927,408 in prize money. The win represents his largest career cash.

Elio Fox added to his high stakes resume by taking down the €25k High Roller to close the series. He made the final table along with David Peters, Charlie Carrel, Alex Foxen, Sam Greenwood, and Cary Katz.

Cary Katz took down the event and the $476,405 prize. Just kidding. Like usual, Katz made the final table but fell short of the win. This time, he made it heads-up with Elio Fox and wound up runner-up. Fox took the title and the $476,405 top prize. Katz had to settle for $344,592.

Simon Brandstrom won the largest prize of the EPT Barcelona after taking down the EPT Barcelona Main Event. He outlasted a field of 1,489 entries to take down the title. He made it heads-up in the event with Marton Czuczor, but the pair decided to chop the prize money. Czuczor walked away with $1.39 million while Brandstrom won $1.43 million.

Barcelona events have been kind to Brandstrom in 2019. Back in March, he finished runner-up in a WPTDeepstack event to win $212,536. That was his second-largest career score at the time. This time around, he won a career-best $1.43 million and now has career earnings of $2.25 million.
