We’ll have to wait for this week’s episodes of the PokerStars.net Big Game to see how much of Tony G’s blog post is bravado, and how much is reality, but it appears that Tony annihilated the other competitors on the show this past week. Tony talks about redemption from the WPT Paris tournament – the tournament that put him on the map, although for the wrong reasons—where he wanted to decimate certain players but was unable to: It seems this time around Tony G is flying a Mission Accomplished banner over the poker table!

This would mark a huge turnaround from his previous appearance on the show when he lasted just two of the show’s five episodes for the week, dropping $278,000 in the process –$100,000 of which was a loan from Daniel Negreanu, who Tony also points out is one of the players who gets felted this time around.

While Tony won’t go into specifics in the blog post, reports by PokerNews.com –owned by Tony G of course–have Tony sitting on a $1 million stack at some point in the show! Perhaps even more significant is a rumored admission by Phil Hellmuth regarding Tony G, but whether this turns out to be sarcasm or not, it seems the Poker Brat gets served a big plate of Humble Pie.

Tony explained his motives on his first appearance of the Big Game: “To bust Phil”. Apparently Tony G doesn’t care how much he wins or loses, so long as Hellmuth goes broke on the show! So far Tony has been getting the worst of it on the Big Game, through a series of missed draws, coolers, and of course the poor decisions that follow those types of beats, but apparently he’ll prove the old poker adage that ‘it’s not how many hands or sessions you win; it’s how much money you win in the end’!

Win or lose Tony G makes for interesting poker on television. Always outspoken, always willing to gamble, and overall a pretty pleasant guy –unless he specifically doesn’t like you a la Phil Hellmuth, Surindar Sunar, and Ralph Perry—it’s really no surprise that Tony G ends up invited to participate in virtually every televised poker cash game.

With the preview from his blog and the rumors circulating around the Internet, this could be the most highly anticipated week on the PokerStars.net Big Game so far, a show that has received rave reviews for its format and innovations. We have Tony G on a super-heater at the expense of Phil Hellmuth!!! What more could you possibly ask for as a poker fan?

Although Tony G is known for Bravado, the game he’s speaking of (airs beginning October 4th) will definately show him in a different light. Was he sitting on a stack of 1 million? I can’t say but pay special attention to the week starting October 18th to find out!
