In Part 1 of this series I detailed two (actually three) poker players who I consider to be in the Top 5 Most Hated People in Poker. In the conclusion of this series I will list three players who are light years ahead of Sorel Mizzi, Jamie Gold, and Dutch Boyd in terms of being hated –two for cheating, and one just for being himself!

#3 – Josh “JJProdigy” Fields – Fields is best known by his infamous online poker screen-name “JJProdigy” where he took the online poker world by storm as a young pro –that is until it was determined he was cheating, by using a loophole to multi-account at poker sites; entering the same tournament multiple times.

Fields wasn’t the only player uncovered in the original multi-accounting fiasco, Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo was guilty of precisely the same thing, but unlike Bonomo Fields was not only unapologetic about his transgressions, he actually continued to multi-account at a number of other sites!

For this Fields has been banned by virtually every online poker site, and faces the wrath of his peers at live events: Alex “AJKHoosiers1” recently told Fields at a live tournament, “You’re a f***ing scumbag according to PokerNews.com’s Chad Holloway who was reporting at the event.

#2 – Mason Malmuth – Malmuth makes the list for his many brush-ups with the poker community as the head man at twoplutwo.com. The way Malmuth holds sway over the 2+2 poker forums, and deals with dissenters, is legendary, as many, many, many, many, banned accounts can attest to.

A quick Google search of Mason Malmuth and any variety of descriptive terms will turn up some interesting threads in a variety of poker forums. His spats have included famous poker players, poker media, and even his own go to guy in David Sklansky –who was disallowed from posting on other forums, and banned from 2+2 for a spell if rumors are accurate.

#1 – Russ Hamilton – An easy choice for the top spot on the list, Hamilton is widely considered the chief player in the Ultimate Bet Super-User from a few years back, and is so loathed in the poker community he was banned (or more accurately, he was told his presence was not welcome) from participating in the Champions event at the 2009 WSOP for all former Main Event winners –Hamilton won the 1994 WSOP Main Event.

Imagine a poker table filled with Hamilton, Malmuth, JJProdigy, Sorel Mizzi, Jamie Gold, and with Dutch Boys as an alternate –the true poker “table of death”.
