WSOP Releases Online Bracelet Schedule

2020 WSOP

When the World Series of Poker first started offering online bracelet events, they started small and have been growing that schedule every since. Now, the WSOP has released the schedule of online bracelet events for the 2020 World Series of Poker and it is the largest yet.

This year, the WSOP will offer 14 online bracelets, an increase of five events. The schedule offers a wide variety of pricing points with a top buy-in of $10,000.

WSOP to Offer 14 Online Bracelets

The WSOP loves to release portions of their schedule on Thursday, and this time around they announced the completed schedule of online bracelet events. This time around, there are 14 events, up from 9 last year.

This year’s schedule includes 13 NL Hold’em tournaments and one PL Omaha tournament. The opening bracelet event is on May 31st and is the $400 Online NL Hold’em Event. This year’s schedule is a mix of re-entry and freezeout events, with three featuring the freezeout format. All other events will feature a single re-entry except for the PLO which will have three.

This year’s online championship will be on June 28 and will have a single re-entry. Players will start with 20,000 in chips and play 15-minute rounds. Other NL events include 6-Handed, Turbo Deepstack, and Knockout Deepstack tournaments. The largest buy-in for an online tournament will be held on July 2 with the $10,000 Online Super High Roller Championship. This freezeout will have 20-minute rounds and 30,000 in starting chips.

A Trend Expected for Years

When the World Series of Poker first announced online bracelet events, I predicted that it would be a matter of time before a large portion of the schedule will be online only. Thus far, around 90 events have been announced with 14 events. If the number of bracelets levels out around 100, that would be 14 percent of the schedule online.

This is just the beginning of the growth expected. At some point in the future, don’t be surprised to see this schedule grow to 25 or more events to accommodate for those that love to play online poker.

Unfortunately, this also means that the general WSOP schedule will balloon to well over 100 events. Don’t be surprised to see a schedule of around 130 events per year starting sometime in the next five years.

The WSOP should be close to finalizing their complete schedule and over the next couple of weeks, we should see the remainder of the events announced. Below is a complete schedule of online events straight from WSOP.com.
