Every two years, the Women in Poker Hall of Fame enshrines women that have helped to shape women’s poker in a positive way. Nominations for the 2018 class of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame are officially underway.

Nominations for the WIPHOF will be accepted from now through March 15. Don’t miss your chance to take part in history by nominating the women that you feel best exhibit the ideals of Hall of Fame.

Players Can Nominate Up to Three Women for the WIPHOF

From now through March 15, you can head to WiPHoF.com and click on nominations to nominate those that you feel should be inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame in 2018.

The criteria for the Women in Poker Hall of Fame are as follows and comes directly from the WiPHoF website:

1. A candidate must have been active as a player or industry leader for a minimum of 10 years prior to election and 35 yrs of age or older.
2. Player/industry leader must have contributed to the world of poker in some significant way. This person can qualify by either winning major poker tournaments, or by making significant contributions to the industry of poker.
3. Player/industry leader must be a proponent of women in poker.
4. All nominees must be approved by a committee of the WiPHoF Committee and the Inductees.
5. Nominees must agree to terms & conditions of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
6. Individuals are allowed to nominate up to three women that they feel should be inducted. Note that there is a box that asks that you give a reason for your nomination.

Once the nominations are collected on March 15, they will be reviewed and if the nominated women meet the criteria listed above, those names will be placed on the ballot.
Afterwards, the list of finalists will be voted upon by existing members of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame and by a panel of media & industry professionals.

Nominations will be accepted until Midnight on March 15, 2018.

Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to Be Held June 26 at the Orleans in Las Vegas

The Women in Poker Hall of Fame induction ceremony and luncheon will be held on June 26, 2018, at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas. This occasion is used to celebrate the contributions of those being inducted and is also a celebration of women in poker.

In addition to honoring women in poker, the Women in Poker Hall of Fame contributes to causes that benefit the community. That’s why they have partnered with Poker Gives as their charity of choice. Poker Gives is an organization that provides financial aid and humanitarian efforts to military families and homeless veterans.
