2019-2020 WSOP Circuit Schedule Announced

The 2019 World Series of Poker kicks off in just three weeks, but we now know the upcoming schedule for the 2019-2020 season of the World Series of Poker Circuit. This will be the 16th US season of the WSOP-C and it will be the largest in history for both payouts and number of stops.

WSOP Ends – WSOP-C Begins

The first stop for the 2019-2020 season of the WSOP Circuit kicks off on July 17, just one day after the end of the 2019 World Series of Poker. The first stop is at Choctaw Durant and will be the first of 35 stops throughout the US.

A couple of changes were announced for the season. The first being that Big Blind Ante will be utilized for all events throughout the season. Next, all events will pay out 15% of the field, up 50% from 10% in past seasons.

Finally, the WSOP has hired PokerNews to conduct live reporting for all WSOP Circuit Main Events and any High Roller events held the stops.

According to WSOP VP Jack Effel, “Changes in the past year were well received by both players and operators. This year, we complete our enhancements with Big Blind Ante becoming standard throughout all our events and stops, plus the decision to give 50% more players a portion of the prize pool. We are confident these changes, plus exposure on Poker News are positive and will lead to more excitement and satisfaction of the WSOP Circuit.”

This season will offer a record 35 events and will have the same points system tied to the Global Casino Championship that awards a WSOP bracelet to the winner. The season-ending Global Casino Championship will be held in August 2020.
