Our Ten Favorite Poker Bonus Resources
Poker bonus guides are the best way to learn more about poker bonuses offered at different online poker rooms. If you spent the amount of time it would take to research all the different online poker rooms, what bonuses they're currently offering and which ones you might qualify for, you wouldn't have any time to play the game you love. Looking at poker bonus guides saves you time and (not to sound like a pitchman) puts cash back in your pocket to reward you for your online poker play.
Here are our ten favorite resources for poker bonus information.
#1 - BonusGeek
Promising "the best casino bonus offers from the most trusted casinos", BonusGeek has information on online casino bonuses broken down into multiple categories. In the Casino Zone you can find the top bonuses for casino games including poker and other online casino games. This site even has categories for different online casino software providers, meaning you can search all sites that use Microgaming or RTG software.
There's the usual cursory poker strategy, but the big draw to BonusGeek is their list of online poker play bonuses.
#2 - PokerFox
The slogan here is -- "Before playing poker, check with The Fox!" While that annoying little jingle is normally enough to put me off a website, the info at PokerFox is really useful. There's pretty detailed information here about the various online poker rooms, including user guides and customer reviews of online poker opportunities.
There are also up to date details on different poker bonus promotions, online poker tournaments, and an extensive online poker strategy guide. One thing I wish PokerFox had -- a search function. You often have to dig through long lists to find what you're looking for.
#3 - TheBestPokerBonus
This isn't the most extensive collection of poker info, but for a quick glance at the various bonuses being offered around the web, I use TheBestPokerBonus. You can see long listings of poker room bonuses arranged by rank, bonus type, etc -- it really helps me make the decision about opening up a new account, or at least about which poker room to further investigate.
#4 - AllBonusBets
Okay, so you can't find information about online poker bonuses here. Man cannot live on poker alone! This site offers information on all other forms of casino bonuses, from bonus info on slots to parlor games to video poker.
With online casino listings categorized by the type of free play and bonuses they offer, as well as by what countries they accept bets from, AllBonusBets makes it easy to find online casino bonuses for all types of games. Just don't expect details on freeroll poker tournaments.
#5 - PokerListings
Here's a unique poker info site -- unique because it contains a little bit of everything poker related. From news about tournaments and events around the world, to a cool "question of the day" feature right on the home page (where strategy points are taught in the form of a question and example), you can consider PokerListings a "one size fits all" spot for poker info. You can also search for poker bonus details by category, such as "best poker freerolls", "best poker rakeback", etc. Some of the ads were a little bit "not safe for work" -- then again, should you really be looking up online poker strategy on your work computer?
#6 - PokerIot
More than just a poker bonus review site, Pokeriot is a full fledged poker warehouse. Pokeriot is a good bookmark for online poker players, especially those new to the game. Pokeriot hosts a massive amount of classes in poker and the site is full of poker strategy and tips for online poker play.
One downside -- Pokeriot claims their bonus news and generic poker updates are "constantly updated", but about once a month is the best you'll get for bonus news updates.
#7 - PokerBonusReport
The world of poker bonus sites is beset on all sides with bad web design, old information, and affiliate links that appear like editorial reviews. PokerBonusReport cuts through all the nonsense and lists upcoming tournaments, bonus information, and plenty of reviews for online poker rooms around the web.
The PokerBonusReport explanation of "rakeback vs. poker bonuses" convinced me to avoid rakeback programs in favor of easier poker bonuses because I don't play enough poker for rakeback to mean much to me. I like regularly updated websites, and websites that contain good hard information. PokerBonusReport is both of these.
#8 - ThematicPoker
ThematicPoker is an easy to read, easy to use, and easy to love poker bonus guide that is updated multiple times per week. I count on ThematicPoker's "editor's choice" for more than just the most current bonus numbers from around the web -- ThematicPoker posts full reviews of those bonuses, including the fine print that could mean the difference between earning bonus money and paying it all back in rake.
The poker forum at Thematic is really active, and even though many poker resource websites offer a "forum" style interface, most of them are spam filled ghost towns. ThematicPoker seems like a labor of love, even when I know they're pointing me towards a bonus because it earns them cash.
#9 - FBNPoker.com
Easily the ugliest of this top ten list, FBNpoker makes up for in volume what it lacks in style. Though FBN seems pretty heavily tilted towards PokerStars (with lots of PokerStars ads masquerading as "poker advice"), you can still learn plenty about the different poker bonuses currently available. Though FBN is not the most often updated of poker bonus reviews, it has been consistently active for years with almost no downtime, meaning the info you get on poker bonuses from FBN is probably about as valid as you can find.
#10 - PokerBonuses.com
This site, which has moved on from its oh-so-charming old name BonusWhores, is easily the most comprehensive poker bonus guide on the web. They've been listing online poker room bonuses for almost a decade, and their motto mentions repeatedly that they "aren't just recommending poker bonuses that earn them money", but are more concerned with poker bonuses that earn YOU (the player) money.
Sure, I'm suspicious of that statement, too, but I love the "Poker Bonus Custom Search" feature at PokerBonuses.com. Using it, you can search for poker bonuses that match your unique playing style and poker experience, so you aren't chasing after bonuses that you'll never earn with your play level. I check PokerBonuses.com before I check any other site, as they seem to be the most often updated of poker bonus guides.
