Bryn Kenney Wins Triton Poker Montenegro Main Event

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro is over halfway completed and several players were crowned champion over the weekend. Among the players that won were Bryn Kenney who won his second event of the series by taking down the Main Event for $2.7 million. Other players that took titles included Henrik Hecklen, Winfred Yu, and Quek Sheng.

Winfred Yu Wins HK$ 100k Short Deck

Event #3 of the Montenegro series was the HK$ 100,000 Short Deck Event. The event drew a total of 42 entries, to create a total prize pool of $838,473. The final table of the event included King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik, Peter Jetten, Isaac Haxton and Winfred Yu.

Ultimately, it was Haxton battling Yu for the title. It only took half an hour to reach a winner with Yu coming out on top for $260,000

Bryn Kenney Wins Montenegro Main Event

If you were looking at the schedule for this series and wondered what happened to Event #4, you wouldn’t be alone. The number 4 is unlucky in Chinese culture, so as a result, there is no Event #4, nor is there a table 4 at the event.

Event #5 was the HK$ 1 Million Main Event and the event drew a solid field of 44 entries to create a prize pool of $8.92 million US. The final table of this event was stacked and included Sam Greenwood, Jason Koon, Matthias Eibinger, Daniel Tang, Bryn Kenney, and Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel.

The top three players earned over a million each. Petter Jetten finished in third for $1.22 million, leaving Daniel Tang and Bryn Kenney to battle for the title. In the end, Kenney ended up taking down the even for $2.71 million.

This was Kenney’s second straight win of the series. He has earned over $4 million so far this series.

Quek Sheng and Hing Cow Win Smaller Event

Event #7 and #8 were smaller buy-in events. Event #7 was the HK$ 200k Short Deck while Event #8 was the HK$ 200k PLO. Quek Sheng ended up winning the Short Deck event, outlasting a final table that included Daniel Dvoress, John Patgorski, Paul Phua, and Peter Jetten. He earned $471,416 for his victory.

Hing Chow took down the PLO Event. This small event drew 22 entries and only paid five people. Ultimately, it came down to Ben Lamb and Hing Chow for the title. Lamb fell just short, earning $217,375. Chow took down the title for $336,383.

Rui Cao Wins Short Deck Main Event

The HK$ 1 Million Short Deck Main Event drew a total field of 98 entries to create a prize pool of $11.73 million. The final table of this one was also stacked, including Isaac Haxton, Daniel Dvoress, Ming Liu, Rui Cao, and Paul Phua.

The top four players earned over $1 million USD with Daniel Dvoress finishing fourth for $1.15 million and Arnaud Romain finishing third for $1.5 million.
Heads-up was between Paul Phua and Rui Cao and ultimately, it was Cao that came out on top. Phua earned $2.17 million for second while Cao finished in first, good for $3.35 million.

Henrick Hecklen Wins HK$ 250,000 NL Turbo

Event #12 of the series was the HK$ 250,00 NL Turbo Event. This was a smaller event with only 22 total entries. Only five players ended up cashing with Canadians Michael Watson, Daniel Dvoress, and Timothy Adams finishing fifth, fourth, and third respectively.

Alex Foxen and Henrik Hecklen battled heads-up for the title and while Foxen has been performing well in high rollers, he’s had trouble winning them. That continued in this event as he finished in second, good for $280,323.

Henrick Hecklen took down the event, earning $434,500.
