The Poker Majors and the Super High Roller Bowl have been wildly successful for Poker Central and the company has decided to expand both events. On Wednesday, Poker Central announced both the British Poker Open and the Super High Roller Bowl London. Both events will be held at the Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City in September.

British Poker Open Kicks off September 2nd

After two successful years of the US Poker Open in Las Vegas, Poker Central has expanded the event internationally. The first British Poker Open will kick off on September 2nd at Aspers Casino, the venue partner in London for Poker Central, and will be sponsored by partypoker LIVE. The announcement came from a press release on Poker Central’s website.

According to Sam Simmons, Poker Central President, “After our expansion of the Super High Roller Bowl into Asia two years ago, we were able to see how international audiences responded positively and the event’s prestige grew.

Bringing the Super High Roller Bowl and first British Poker Open to London is another milestone in our mission to highlight more players, venues, and destinations from around the world through live tournament streaming on PokerGO.”

According to the press release, there will be 10 events the British Poker Open spanning 11 days. Buy-ins for the events will range from £10,000 to £100,000. Players who show up on time for these events will get their first entry into the event rake free.

Similar to the US Poker Open, players that cash in these events will earn points towards High Roller of the Year. The player that earns the most points during the series will be crowned British Poker Open Champion. The press release did not state whether any additional prizes will be awarded to the BPO Champion.

Super High Roller Bowl London Kicks Off September 13th

The Super High Roller Bowl London will kick off on September 13th and this is the second time that the event has left Las Vegas. Organizers tried expanding to China in 2018, and while successful, changes in local laws made returning unworkable.

This time around, the event will go to a poker-friendly region and one that will likely produce a long-term relationship. The SHRB London will feature a 49 player cap and a buy-in of £250,000. If the cap is reached, the prize pool will be £12.25 million.

We say “if” because December’s Super High Roller Bowl fell well short of expectations. Then again, it was the second time the event was held in the year and the timing of the event was a bit odd. This event should have a solid field and may cap the field.

Open seating will be limited to 30 players and the remaining 19 will be VIP invites from Aspers casino and Poker Central. Anyone wishing to enter the event can reserve their seat with a £25,000 deposit. A draw will be held prior to the tournament to set the final field.

Partypoker LIVE to Sponsor Event

For the first time, partypoker LIVE will be sponsoring both the BPO and Super High Roller Bowl London. In addition to massive partypoker branding, you can expect many players from the roster of partypoker sponsored pros to attend the series.

Big names such as Isaac Haxton, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz, Sam Trickett, and Mikita Badziakouski are certain to shine brightest during the series. But you will see many of the lower-tier pros playing in the BPO. A full schedule for the series has yet to be posted but is expected anytime now.
