In this week’s BestPokerSites.org roundup, we take a look at ESPN’s planned coverage of the 2010 WSOP Main Event final table, Barney Frank’s surprising battle in his re-election campaign, Theo Jorgensen’s new endorsement deal with PokerStars.com, the best laptops for online poker players, and an update on Gus Hansen’s high stakes poker situation.

Let’s get into it…

  • PokerListings reports that ESPN is planning unprecedented final table coverage of the Main Event, which resumes on November 6th. The “November Nine” will play down to two players on the 6th, and then will reconvene on the 8th for the heads up finale. ESPN will then air the coverage on the 9th from 10 PM to 12 AM.
  • PokerNews.com did an interesting piece on the ten poker players they would like to see on the big screen. Obviously Phil Ivey made the list, but check out the article to find out the other nine.
  • The Online Poker Examiner reports that pro-online poker politician Barney Frank is in a tough race to retain his House seat, as he only holds a 13 point lead in the polls.
  • Well known poker pro Theo Jorgensen has signed an endorsement deal with PokerStars.com to become a Team PokerStars Pro. This seems an appropriate award after Jorgensen finished 30th in this year’s WSOP Main Event.
  • PokerStop.com reports that Ladbrokes.com has launched 100% anonymous online poker tables, which will allow sharks to go completely undetected, but may toughen up the games as amateur players find themselves outmatched.
  • CardPlayer brings us an update on Gus Hansen’s high stakes situation – Gus is up more than $1 million on the week after dominating the $500/$1,000 PL Omaha games at Full Tilt Poker.
  • Full Tilt Poker has announced they’ve banned several players (and confiscated their money) who were using bots on their online poker accounts during this Summer, USAPlayers.com reports.
  • PokerSoftware.com did an excellent piece on the best laptops for online poker players. The article recommends several different options based on players’ needs, budget, and preferences.
  • Kentucky has added Microgaming to its Full Tilt and Party Gaming lawsuit (CasinoGamblingWeb.com reports). The lawsuit aims to seize the domain names of 141 online gambling sites who have done business with Kentucky residents.
  • My buddy John over at OnlinePoker.org put a cool infographic up that lists the top celebrity poker players, along with their lifetime cashes and winnings.

That’s it for this week, make sure to check back next week for the latest Weekly Roundup. Also, feel free to leave comments below if we missed any interesting articles from the week.

how is fultilt going to give the money they took from the bots back to the players??? are they even thinking about it? i’m suprised they have not brought this up, it’s the players who that money belongs too. i question there integrity for having an honest program. who knows it’s probably the pros who are using the bots.thinking about it they should publish all the turnaments, and ring game winnings, and the people thjat came in the place behind in the turnament would get that money, follwed by the ring game losers. it is the honest thing to do.
