On Tuesday the World Poker Tour issued a press release detailing the popular poker tour’s new agreement with Poker Road Radio. The deal will see Poker Road Radio’s (www.pokerroad.com) broadcasts become a fixture at most domestic WPT® stops.
Poker Road is already on hand for the LA Poker Classic taking place at the Commerce Casino, and from here on out the radio program will broadcast three episodes from each tournament stop, featuring interviews with WPT talent like Mike Sexton and Tony Dunst, the top players in poker, and players who make the final tables of each event.
According to the press release the deal will extend into the 10th season of the WPT: “The Poker Road deal continues into Season X, as PRR will be on site for all events held in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as well as the Borgata Poker Open, the Seminole Hard Rock Showdown and numerous other events. Additionally, PRR will record special episodes during other designated WPT stops that will feature WPT talent and coverage of the event.”
“PokerRoad is thrilled to be working with the World Poker Tour again,” said Court Harrington, Poker Road executive and show host. “Over the years many of the classic episodes of Poker Road Radio have taken place around WPT tournaments and we eagerly look forward to working closely with the WPT to put out great content for poker fans around the globe.”
Since being purchased by Party Gaming, the WPT has been focused on reenergizing their brand and driving their broadcasts forward. The addition of Poker Road Radio into the mix comes on the heels of numerous format changes to the show, most notably the addition of preliminary day highlights, as well as a new segment hosted by Tony “bond18” Dunst called the “Raw Deal”, and new graphics and even a ticker at the bottom of the screen displaying key information about the tournament series.
Poker Road Radio was created by Barry Greenstein and Joe Sebok, as a visionary experiment to bring poker media into the future. The site is a multimedia poker site focusing on fresh, original content, and high-level expertise from its entire team.
Poker Road produces radio and streaming television content, as well as various written poker material. Just a few of the features at Poker Road Radio include Poker Road Radio, The Jess and BJ Show, as well as blogs by Barry Greenstein and Joe Sebok.
